Tarazi has been the leader in Mediterranean foods for nearly forty years. Our signature products, Tahini and Falafel Mix, were created using a traditional Tarazi family recipe. Since then, Tarazi has been requested by name as the product of choice in select restaurants, retail stores, manufacturing plants and family kitchens worldwide.
Our original founder, Faraj Tarazi, better known as “Fred” to friends and family, owned and operated a fine foods importing company in Los Angeles in the early 1970s. He saw an opportunity to develop a premium Mediterranean food brand, and spent many nights in local bakeries perfecting the Tarazi family recipes. Fred received such positive feedback – and an immediate demand for the product – he purchased and built a one of a kind production facility to expand his new brand: Tarazi.
